Charhar Institute among world's best independent think tanks

The Charhar Institute, a non-governmental think tank in China, was included into three ranking categories in the 2015 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report conducted by staff members from the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania. The Index is among the most authoritative rankings of the world's top think tanks.

According to the Think Tank Index released on Jan. 27, 2016, the China-based institute ranks 108th inTop Foreign Policy and International Affairs Think Tanks, 55th inTop Think Tanks in China, India, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, and is also among the Best Independent Think Tanks.

The Charhar Institute, founded in 2009, is a non-partisan think tank aimed at providing an exchange platform for the government, research institutes, enterprises and the general public. It is also aimed at facilitating international cooperation on political, economic and social issues.

It boasts an international advisory committee and a research team staffed with retired Chinese diplomats, foreign former dignitaries and senior scholars on diplomacy and international relations.
